Camelsdale Primary has bagged its eighth Eco Schools Green Flag – this time with Distinction! The school is going full throttle on sustainability, proving its eco efforts are anything but rubbish.

The award coincides with the school's discovery of a 1979 record produced for West Sussex, featuring a specially written and performed song promoting the benefits of recycling. The record was even featured on the BBC’s Pebble Mill at Lunchtime and John Craven’s Newsround.

Headteacher Sarah Palmer has said how important it is for her pupils to learn about sustainability and hopes they become adults with the same values.

She added: “It is quite amazing that this agenda has been in the Camelsdale ethos for many years. Discovering the record has been quite something!”
