Winter trees took centre stage at Haslemere Museum’s latest ‘Tea & Talk’ event, where more than 20 nature lovers gathered for a talk led by natural history expert Dr June Chatfield.
Attendees explored a selection of winter twigs and discovered how different tree species can be identified by their buds. Dr Chatfield, a regular speaker at the museum, has previously captivated audiences with talks on ferns, shells, and even a moss tour of the museum grounds.
Kay Topping, the museum’s Education Officer, said: “June is a true font of knowledge – this wasn’t even her speciality!”
For those eager to learn more, Dr Chatfield returns on Tuesday, March 18, with a talk on spring flowers. Bookings can be made via the museum’s website under the ‘What’s On’ section.
