Farnham Town manager Paul Johnson was delighted with his side’s performance after they picked up an emphatic 6-1 win at South Park (Reigate) in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday.

Goals from Great Evans, Jordan Stepney, Jordan Gallagher (2), Owen Dean and Jack Marney fired the visitors to a comprehensive victory.

Town nearly took an early lead in the fifth minute when Gallagher slid in Evans, who chopped onto his right foot shot and fired a shot at goal which rattled the post.

The opening goal arrived on 34 minutes when Harry Cooksley’s blocked shot went into the air and Evans headed home.

The visitors doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time when Stepney’s acrobatic volley found the top corner.

South Park pulled a goal back in the 54th minute when Tom Collins’ deflected effort found the bottom corner.

Gallagher soon restored Farnham’s two-goal advantage when he picked out the bottom corner.

Gallagher scored his second of the afternoon on 71 minutes to make it 4-1.

Dean scored Farnham’s fifth in the 75th minute, and Marney completed the scoring when he made it 6-1 late on with an emphatic finish.

The comprehensive victory was Farnham’s second successive 6-1 win after beating Rayners Lane by the same scoreline in their previous match.

And Johnson was once again pleased with his side’s efforts.

“It was a very good performance,” said Johnson.

“Our bench was very strong on Saturday so we told the lads to make sure they maxed out on the pitch as we had great options to come on if needed.

“We’ve got some key players back now – Jack Dean, Darryl Sanders and Sam De St Croix all came off the bench.”

Next up for Farnham is a home game against Ascot United at The Memorial Ground in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
