Farnham Town manager Paul Johnson was delighted with his side’s performance after they picked up a comprehensive 6-1 victory at Rayners Lane in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday.

Goals from Owen Dean (2), Great Evans, Darryl Sanders, Jordan Gallagher and Jack Marney fired the visitors to an emphatic win.

Town fell behind in the tenth minute when Elliott Buchanan gave Rayners Lane the lead, but the visitors were back on level terms on 26 minutes when Harry Cooksley’s cross was headed into the far corner by Dean.

Gallagher won Farnham a penalty in the 39th minute, and Dean made no mistake from the spot to give Farnham a 2-1 lead at half-time.

The visitors then blew Rayners Lane away in the second half with a scintillating display in blustery conditions.

Gallagher won a second penalty on 74 minutes, but Dean’s effort hit the inside of the post, flashed across the goal and went wide.

Farnham did score their third a minute later when Dean cut the ball back for Evans to bundle home.

Sanders made it 4-1 in the 81st minute, and new signing Gallagher scored on his debut four minutes later when his 20-yard volley found the back of the net.

Marney scored Farnham’s sixth on 89 minutes when his superb free kick picked out the left-hand corner of the net.

Johnson was very happy with his side’s performance.

“It was an excellent display in tough weather,” said Johnson.

“It was a case of going there, getting the three points and getting out of there.

“We scored some excellent goals.”

Farnham announced the signing of Gallagher from fellow Isthmian League South Central Division outfit Raynes Park Vale last week, and Johnson was delighted with the attacker’s debut on Saturday.

“Jordan was excellent,” said Johnson.

“He is a player we tried to sign in the summer.

“We felt the time was right to try again to get him, and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Next up for Farnham is a trip to South Park (Reigate) in the Isthmian League South Central Division on Saturday (3pm).
