Alton ended their Combined Counties Premier Division South campaign with a comprehensive 4-0 win at home to Camberley Town.
Second-half goals from Luke Perkins, Darnell McDonald, Jack Fowler and Jamie Hoppitt gave the home side the three points at Anstey Park Enclosure.
The Brewers started brightly and created their first chance in the eighth minute when Pat Cox flicked on Alton keeper Toby Fisher’s long kick to Scott Sanderson, who hit his shot over the bar.
Fisher made his first save of the afternoon on 15 minutes when he saved Brandon Vangrove’s shot.
Alton created a good chance a minute later when Jamie Phillips’ cut-back picked out Cox, but Cox put his effort wide of the Camberley goal.
The Brewers went close again on 28 minutes when McDonald’s cross from the left eventually dropped for Perkins, who controlled the ball superbly before shooting just over the bar. Perkins went close again eight minutes later with a spectacular bicycle kick which went over the bar.
Perkins called Camberley keeper Stephen Douglas into action in the 40th minute with a powerful shot which was heading for the bottom left-hand corner but was tipped around the post by Douglas. Sanderson then tried his luck from long range two minutes later, but Douglas was equal to his effort.
Alton created one more chance before half-time when McDonald cut in from the left, but his powerful right-foot shot went over the bar.
The Brewers were quick out of the traps after the break and took the lead just 30 seconds into the second half. A cross-field pass found Perkins, who took an excellent touch before dispatching a clinical shot into the bottom left-hand corner.
Alton nearly doubled their advantage on 55 minutes when a corner caused chaos in the Camberley box and eventually fell to Cox, but his close-range effort went just wide.
The Brewers doubled their advantage on the hour mark when McDonald’s speculative cross-shot from the left deceived Douglas and found the far top corner.
Camberley nearly pulled a goal back in the 78th minute when Stan Jones’ effort went just over the bar. Alton then almost scored their third of the afternoon on 81 minutes when Adam New’s shot was well tipped over the bar by Douglas.
The Brewers did score a third on 87 minutes when Louis Russell played the ball to Fowler, who took a touch before clinically dispatching his finish into the bottom right-hand corner.
The home side made it 4-0 on 90 minutes when Hoppitt fired home into the bottom left-hand corner from close range.
Alton finished in seventh place in the Combined Counties Premier Division South, having picked up 65 points from their 38 matches.
