Top marks take centre stage at St Ives School in Haslemere where pupils are celebrating exceptional results in their recent LAMDA exams. Every student who entered the exam received a Distinction, with 75 per cent of the entire school taking the exams.
Performing arts are hugely important at St Ives, with students taking part in concerts, assemblies, and nativities. The highlight of the year is a school-wide production involving all pupils from Year 3 to Year 6.
Headteacher Kay Goldsworthy said: “We are absolutely thrilled with these outstanding results which are a clear reflection of the hard work of our children and the talent of our fabulous teacher, Katie Nicholls. One of our school mottos is ‘happy children make the best learners’ and this is certainly clear from these results. Our children love performing and the benefits of these lessons reach far beyond the classroom, giving them self-confidence, excellent communication skills and a brilliant imagination.”
