Hollywood has come to town as Gerard Butler has been caught on camera in Alton.

Even in deepest East Hampshire it seems the actor can’t escape the paparazzi with the star making a quip about a young follower at the crew’s Anstey Park base.

The 300 and London Has Fallen star is appearing alongside Homeland actress Morena Baccarin in Greenland: Migration, a survival thriller directed by Ric Roman Waugh.

A post-apocalyptic scene has been created around Alton’s Market Square with the town hall and parts of Market Street being given a grim makeover.

The sequel to 2020 box office hit Greenland is expected to hit the silver screen in late 2024 and early 2025.
