THE MAN who mugged ‘Mr Petersfield’ in broad daylight last month is unlikely to face justice.
The trail has run cold in the case of the man who robbed David Weeks of his pension money on Chapel Street around 2.20pm on February 5.
Mr Weeks told the Post last Monday the case has been closed but could be reopened if new evidence comes to light.
It’s a disappointing end to a tale which shocked the town, but also brought out the best of people with neighbours and the circus community holding collections to cover his losses.
“The police were very helpful but unfortunately they’ve told me the case he been closed,” said the 82-year-old.
“The police have said they can reopen it if they get more people come forward with information. I would like again to thank everyone for their help and support.”
Witnesses or anyone with information should call 101 quoting 44240041786.
