The Fernhurst Hub marked the festive season by thanking the dedicated volunteers central to its success. Originally founded 21 years ago as an internet café, the Hub has grown into a much loved village hub and café.
Manager Liz Rawlings said: “Our volunteers reflect the Fernhurst Hub’s ethos. Without them we could not operate or curate such a varied programme of events throughout the year.”
This year’s highlights featured an ‘Open Call Art Exhibition’ showcasing 90 works by 32 local artists, plus sell-out talks on topics like WWII, the menopause, and beekeeping. The Hub caters for all ages, with weekly language lessons for 90 participants, Bridge and Ukulele sessions, pre-school music groups and carers' afternoons.
