The victim of a suspected murder in Ash died of a head injury, a post-mortem has found.
Police enquiries are continuing after the body of a woman was found at a house in Church View, Ash, on Thursday, May 11.
Officers were called at around 5.50pm by the South East Coast Ambulance Service following a concern for safety.
On arrival, a woman in her 50s was found dead inside the property.
The investigation, led by Surrey and Sussex’s Major Crime Team, to establish the circumstances of the woman’s death remains ongoing.
A 61-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.
But a 64-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released without charge with no further action.
A post-mortem was carried out on Saturday, which established that the cause of death was a head injury. Formal identification is yet to take place.
