A man is in a serious condition in hospital after he was stabbed in Haslemere on Saturday morning.
Police say the man, who is in his 20s, was stabbed in his leg at a house on Border Road at around 9.30am.
He was taken to hospital where he remained in a "serious but stable condition" as of Saturday evening.
Police say the suspect fled the house immediately after the assault, and is yet to be caught by officers.
He is described as a white man in his 20s. He was reported as wearing dark blue tracksuit bottoms and a dark tracksuit top with a green puffed jacket that had a navy patch on the shoulder.
Police are appealing to anyone who has dashcam or doorbell camera footage around the time of the assault, or any other information, to come forward.
Detective Inspector Tom Griffin said: “There was a significant police presence in the area this morning and we know this will have caused concern in the local community.
"We would like to reassure residents that we are doing everything we can to locate the suspect, who we believe was known to the victim.”
