Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club have had a successful season competing in a number of competitions.
The 13 to 15 team competed at the national age group competition in Crawley. The team swam well and won a bronze medal. They recorded a total of 75.85 for their routine, taking their score to 131.5102. The team comprised Alexa Arrigoni, Amelia Raby, Cerys Snelling, Elizabeth Fox, Katerina Ivanov, Pippa Welch and Renee Coleman.
Rushmoor then took part in the national championship in Nottingham. Nine swimmers represented the club in a number of different events. The first day ended with Rushmoor’s acro team placing fourth, free team placing tenth and tech duet placing eighth. After a good night’s rest the club had two solo performances placing sixth and seventh, free duet placing 11th and the tech team placing seventh. The swimmers were Alexa Arrigoni, Cerys Snelling, Connie Pendleton, El Cameron-Brookbank, Elizabeth Fox, Jess Smith, Lexie Adam, Pippa Welch and Rosie Owen.
The club also took part in the south east regional competition in Crawley. The club had 30 swimmers, ranging in age from 12 to over 60. All the swimmers performed exceptionally well, and everyone won gold in their respective events. The club entered teams in under-15 Division One and 13 to 18 Division Two, as well as masters combo and masters free teams.
Rushmoor also took part in the Kent county competition. The club entered 16 swimmers in the figure events, with four club swimmers taking home medals. Sophia Bastajian won gold in under-12 grade one, Belle Goss won silver in under-12 grade two, Hannah Cashin won bronze in under-12 grade three and Poppy Quinn won silver in 15 to 18 grade four.
Rushmoor Artistic Swimming Club are always on the lookout for new male and female members, aged six years and above. The club also offers a sync and swim class for older members.
