Farnham Rugby Club’s under-18 girls have reached the National Cup regional final after beating Old Ruts/Wimbledon (Rumbles) 27-12 in the semi-finals.
Rumbles scored the first try after a series of close quarter runs by their imposing pack. Farnham responded with two well-worked tries. Mimi McArthur scored the first and Ella Barker scored the second. Tegan Larvan converted the second try to make it 12-7 to Farnham. The Rumbles scored their second try to make it 12-12.
Isabella Newnes-Smith scored from a five-metre scrum to give Farnham a 17-12 lead at half-time.
With five minutes to go Phoebe Foskett fed Newnes-Smith for her second try, before Newnes-Smith finished things off with her hat-trick try on the final whistle.
Farnham’s under-18 girls will face Dings Crusaders from Bristol in the final at Farnham RUFC at 2pm on Sunday, March 10.
