Aldershot Town left Kidderminster without any points despite racing into a two-goal lead.

Four changes were made from the side that exited the FA Trophy as Jasper Sheik, Tyler Frost, Lorent Tolaj and Maxwell Mullins replaced Jordi van Stappershoef, Stuart O’Keefe, Kwame Thomas and Coby Rowe.

Sheik made his Shots debut between the sticks - the 18-year-old former England schoolboy had impressed on loan and in training.

The Shots found the back of the net after just five minutes through a lovely quick move. Olly Scott won the ball back in Kidderminster’s half and played it down the left to Tolaj. He cut it back to Josh Stokes, who was able to show composure with a neat finish into the bottom corner.

Kidderminster were keen to impress their new manager Phil Brown, and refused to let going behind early dampen their efforts as they started to put some pressure on to Aldershot with a few set pieces in and around the danger zone.

But the home side were unable to threaten Sheik’s goal and on another quick breakaway the Shots doubled their advantage in the 24th minute.

Theo Widdrington won the ball back in his own half, and good work from Stokes brought the ball forward, where it ended up with Tolaj only for the Swiss striker to be brought down as he entered the penalty area.

Cian Harries had not missed from the spot all season and made no mistake as he sent Christian Dibble the wrong way.

But five minutes later Kidderminster had the opportunity to get back into the game with a penalty of their own as Amari Morgan-Smith was fouled in the box. Ashley Hemmings hit his effort straight down the middle and into the back of the net.

And the home side levelled in the 37th minute as Hemmings struck a good finish from around the penalty spot that was too powerful for Sheik.

Kidderminster completed their comeback two minutes into the second half as Morgan-Smith’s header found the back of the net to put the home side in front.

The goal spurred on the Harriers, who would not let Aldershot have a moment of peace on the ball with constant pressure. But they failed to turn their momentum into chances, with Sheik not tested during their spell of dominance.

Harriers were given a chance to increase their lead in the 66th minute when they were awarded a second penalty for a foul on Morgan-Smith as the ball went out of play. Sheik pulled off a fantastic save to deny Hemmings a hat-trick and put a shine on his Shots debut.

But Kidderminster were able to score a fourth in the 77th minute. Hemmings drove forward on the counter, and though his shot was well saved by Sheik the rebound fell to striker Gold Omotayo, who netted straight after coming on as a substitute.

Sheik pulled off a smart reaction stop to save the scoreline getting any worse for his side in stoppage time, but it was an afternoon to forget for the Shots.
