Farnham Floorball Club completed an unprecedented sweep of junior floorball league titles, securing the league championship in the under-13, under-16 and under-19 categories.
The under-13 Shooting Stars team grew in squad size and in terms of their playing style this season. As well as winning the league, there were individual honours for Ossian Tibbert-Wykvliet as the top scorer in the league with 31 goals. He was closely followed by his team-mate Daniel Ahto, who scored 27 times. Goalkeeper Nye Price won the top goalkeeper award in the under-13 section.
The under-16 Fireballs have continued their unbeaten run, which dates back to 2021. They have won their past 41 matches and this season had a goal difference of plus 84 in 12 matches. Some of the squad will not be able to compete for the under-16s in the national finals because of a change in the age regulations. The leading scorer in the league for this age group was Farnham’s Alex York, and the top goalkeeper was his team-mate George McGowan.
Farnham were also successful in the under-19 league, securing the title on the last day. York and McGowan also took home the individual honours in this age group.
Farnham Floorball Club chairman Dean Smith said: “We are so happy that our teams have had a record-breaking season. They have made big strides in their development this year, and we are seeing a very attractive style of play from all our teams. Some of the older players are already making a mark in the national adult league too. Above all, our players love playing floorball and we make sure they have a lot of fun along the way.”
New players aged eight years old and above are welcome at the club, which trains at Farnham Leisure Centre on Saturday afternoons. Email [email protected]
