Rowledge beat Old Tauntonians & Romsey by 22 runs in Division One of the Southern Premier Cricket League on Saturday.

Rowledge suffered the early loss of opener Justin Felsch, but Max Martin (39) and Zac Le Roux (62) built an excellent partnership.

The visitors collapsed from 107 for one to 124 for seven, but David Lloyd (20 not out) batted well to take Rowledge to a final score of 151 for eight.

Rowledge took two early wickets to reduce the hosts to seven for two, but Charlie King and Harry Tulk (63) added 70 to leave the home side well placed at 77 for two.

Ollie Ryman made the crucial breakthrough when he dismissed King for 29. Felsch (four for 31) and Ryman (three for 25) then ripped through the middle and lower order as the hosts were bowled out for 129.

Rowledge’s second team beat St Cross Symondians’ third team by 13 runs. Rowledge’s third team beat Ropley by 77 runs.

Tilford fell to a four-wicket defeat at Farncombe in Division One of the I’Anson League on Saturday.

Tilford won the toss and elected to bat first, but lost two quick wickets with only three runs on the board. Henry Clinton and Ciaran Rooney added 46 for the third wicket but the visitors were soon in trouble again at 56 for five.

Clinton (52) and Huw Town-Jones forged a stand of 55 but the innings subsided and Tilford were all out for a below-par 132 in the 39th over. Off spinner Nathan Swansborough took three for 14 and there were two wickets each for seamers Tom Johanson and Maxx Hodge.

Farncombe opener Kuda Kamoto (63) took the Tilford bowling apart with some strong blows, striking three sixes and nine fours. Rooney (three for 24) took three quick wickets, but Farncombe reached their target in the 35th over.
