Alton’s second team beat Bramshaw by 232 runs to seal promotion from Division One of the Hampshire Cricket League.

The hosts started brightly, with Freddie Egleston (49) and Ryan Hale (88) putting on 100 for the first wicket.

Michael Heffernan (61) joined Hale at the crease and the runs continued to flow. A late flourish from Sam Bridger (39 not out) and Matt Crane (25 not out) took Alton to a commanding 303 for five in their 45 overs.

Alton's Arul Appavoo (two for 12) was immediately in the wickets, before Wilf Bridger (three for 26) and Gemma Porter (three for eight) ripped through the rest of Bramshaw’s top and middle order. Tom Andrews (one for 25) took the ninth wicket before Joey Paul’s direct hit run out ended the visitors’ innings on 71.

Alton’s third team sealed the Hampshire Cricket League Division Four North title with a 68-run victory at South Winchester’s second team.

Batting first on a green surface, Howard Gadsby (26) and Nilanka Kodithuwakku showed good patience. Once Gadsby departed, Ethan Van Der Linde (42) struck the ball nicely and increased the scoring rate.

Kodithuwakku (64) and Van Der Line departed in quick succession, but Michael Salmon (22), Ian Mason (29) and Luke Crook (14 not out) took the visitors to 244 for six from their 45 overs.

Alton’s bowlers were soon threatening, with Salmon (three for 19) and Ian Carpenter (one for 29) having the home side in trouble.

Shilpan Shah (23) batted nicely until he was removed by Toby Taylor (two for 11).

Michael Pollard made 46, and he was supported by Haider Bangash who hit four sixes in his 32. However, when Bangash was caught by Van Der Linde from the leg-spin of Jaimie Craig (one for 22) and Luke Crook (one for 38) cartwheeled Dan Rides’ middle stump, Alton were on the brink.

Skipper Lee Partner (one for 36) took a wicket as the hosts finished on 166 for nine.

Alton’s fourth team beat Liphook & Ripsley’s third team by nine wickets to seal their survival in Division Five of the I’Anson League.

After winning the toss Alton quickly had the visitors on the ropes at 16 for four, with Alex Stratford (three for 30) and Harry Lynn (two for 16) doing the damage.

Nathan Vincent (three for seven) cleaned up the tail as Liphook were bowled out for 92.

The home side got off to a flying start with Cam Rhodes (45) and Rich Housley (27 not out) putting on 60 for the first wicket. Alex Housley (13 not out) joined his dad at the crease, and the pair saw Alton home in the 20th over.

Alton’s first team beat Bournemouth by 89 runs in the Southern Premier Cricket League Premier Division.

Alton had already secured their survival before the game. The visitors batted first and scored 243 for six. Aarav Rajnikanth (41) top scored.

Ben Rolfs (four for 12) and Tom South (three for 36) impressed with the ball as Alton bowled the hosts out for 154.
