Voting has opened in the Haslemere Christmas windows competition.

Residents and visitors to the town are encouraged to vote for the shop window in the town centre and Wey Hill which looks the most festive.

This year, eight retailers “donated” their shop windows for decorating by seven local schools and the church youth group. One school cancelled all art projects for the rest of term to focus solely on designing its window. However, to keep a level playing field with the retailers, the school-decorated windows will only be entered into the judged categories.

The public can vote online at www.haslemereparish.org, or by photographing the QR code on their chosen retailer’s competition poster on a smartphone by Sunday, December 18.

On December 19, a panel led by the Bishop of Dorking, Bishop Jo Wells, will judge the windows based on three categories – most festive, most stylish and most complementary to the shop’s business.
