POLICE have charged two men after a robbery at TH Baker jewellers in Alton High Street on February 8.

Lee Benneyworth, 39, of Leominster Road, Portsmouth, has been charged with robbery, two counts of common assault on an emergency worker, causing racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress, and causing criminal damage.

Jamie Massiah, 40, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery.

Both appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on February 10 and were remanded to appear at Winchester Crown Court on March 16.
