A THIRTEEN-year-old cyclist turned out to be a hero last week, after the University for the Creative Arts’ deputy vice-chancellor Alan Cooke was involved in a bicycle accident in Alice Holt Forest.

Millan Sempill, who lives in Farnham, found Mr Cooke, who had collided with a dog off its lead, and immediately sprang into action – calling the emergency services and waiting until an ambulance arrived.

Because of the teenager’s actions, the ambulance crew and Mr Cooke’s wife Karen were able to attend the scene as quickly as possible, even helping paramedics to find the fastest way out of the forest.

Karen was full of praise for Millan’s actions and confirmed her husband was “very badly bruised and shaken”, but suffered no broken bones is now recovering well at home.
