Pesky squirrels have a lot to answer for at Wrecclesham Community Centre after the bewhiskered rodents were blamed for damage to the centre’s alarm system.

Farnham Town Council heard last Thursday that squirrels had chewed through the alarm’s wiring, and councillors agreed to splash out £1,152 to install a new wireless alarm system.

Members also signed off £3,600 for the installation of a new front fence at the well-used community centre.
