The sun was out with a cool breeze which made a perfect day for the start of the annual South Downs Show.
With plenty of dogs, a variety of stallholders selling their goods, ferret racing and more. There is definitely something for everyone.
The show also allows local causes and charities to shine a spotlight on what they do and why it is important. Hampshire Search and Rescue (HANTSAR) is one of them and works hard every year alongside police to search for vulnerable people who are missing.
HANTSAR’s work also stretches over the border when needed to assist in other rescues and every member brings their own expertise and volunteers their own time to reunite loved ones.
The Petersfield Post spoke to the team and tried out a rescue activity to find out more. Stay tuned for more South Downs Show content coming soon.
