Photographer Tom Lee is staging an exhibition of his pictures of the South Downs landscape at Haslemere Museum which opens on April 4.

The exhibition will include photographs of the Haslemere area and the pictures can be seen at http://tomlee.gallery/south-downs/

Tom said: “The project was a labour of love which started when I was 50 and only stopped when I got to 60.

“Once I’d printed up all the landscapes as large format prints I packed them away in a portfolio case and set out to try to tour an exhibition around the national park – then the pandemic arrived and everything went on hold.

“In early 2022 I got a phone call out of the blue from Heather Gayler at Arundel Museum, asking if I would exhibit all the work as part of their programme celebrating the South Downs, and everything started to move along.

“The exhibition ran for five weeks in Arundel and then moved to the Regency Town House in Brighton for Photo Fusion, and now is coming over to Haslemere which is a perfect location as several of the landscapes were captured on Blackdown.

“I’ll be turning 64 in June and so need to get a move on. In an ideal world I would like to find suitable venues in Petersfield, Winchester, Lewes and Eastbourne, with a grand finale at the Seven Sisters Visitor Centre in the Cuckmere Valley.”
