A new business has opened its doors in Haslemere, offering a revolutionary new way to work.
Emma Stokes launched Studio Simple – a no-fuss, creative co-working space – as a solution to the problem of where to work if you don't have an office and don’t want to work from home.
As a freelancer, Emma found working from home lonely. She made use of co-working spaces in London, and when she and her husband moved back to Haslemere, they decided to bring the concept of co-working spaces with them.
“Studio Simple is for those who want to work alongside others and make connections with people in the industry. It’s all about collaboration.”
Collaboration is at the heart of what Emma envisions for the space. As a freelance graphic designer, she has found that creative industries often foster competition – something she wants to counter by creating a positive space for both users and the wider community.
She has already contributed to local projects, including designing the logo for ‘This is Haslemere,’ the new go-to website for events and volunteering.
Studio Simple is modelled after Emma’s own home – picture a bright, airy space with artwork, plants, and unlimited tea, coffee, and biscuits.
“I want people using the space to feel as comfortable as possible, and endless tea and biscuits are, in my opinion, a necessity for any work day.”
The space is so simple, that there are only two ways of using it: daily hot desking at £25 or a monthly rolling membership at £300.
