THIS weekend’s Fernhurst village fete, known as The Revels, raises funds for a wide variety of village clubs and societies.

And this year’s Revels, due to take place on Sunday, will see cash go to the villag Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, as well as to the over 60s club, the lunch club, two youth clubs, the village archives group, the Fernhurst Centre, and the recreation ground.

A major contribution to the fundraising will come from the silent auction. Prizes include vouchers at a number of local pubs and eating places, bottles of Champagne, a football cartoon, a car ride to Goodwood, window cleaning, gym classes for children, granite chopping boards, two hours professional ironing, and hampers of candles from the Candle Factory.
