EXACTLY two months since a devastating earthquake hit the Caribbean island of Haiti, pupils at Hollycombe Primary School held a home clothes day to raise money for victims of the disaster.
The children had all heard about the earthquake – in which more than 250,000 were reported to have died, and many thousands more were left homeless – and wanted to do something to help victims and their families after seeing the disaster unfold on our TV screens in January.
They were able to choose what to wear to school in exchange for a donation and £142.70 was raised for the cause.
