PETERSFIELD Town Council has snapped up an icon of British life for less than a pint of milk.

A pound doesn’t get you a lot these days, but it can get you a classic red telephone box. 

The council has signed the cheque and paperwork and will now draw up plans to refurbish the Bell Hill box. The purchase was approved by the council’s Finance and General Purposes Committee.
