An evening of opera and song inspired by literature will be held at St Andrew’s Church in Upper Church Lane as part of the Farnham Literary Festival on March 10 at 7.30pm.

It will be given by KT Tenuto, an ensemble of classically trained, talented professional and semi-professional singers from Farnham and across Surrey.

They have played sold-out concerts around Surrey but this is their first in Farnham.

Opera singer, ensemble member and Farnham resident Elaine Way said: “We are delighted to be performing in my home town and adding to the variety of events included in the literary festival. We have some amazing vocal talent and it will be a joy for us to perform in the historic surroundings of St Andrew’s Church.

“Whether you are a seasoned opera connoisseur or just want to try something different, you’ll have a fabulous evening. We encourage you to come along, sit back and enjoy the beauty and power of classically trained voices in a relaxed and friendly environment.”

Accompanied by piano and directed by Peter Crockford, the music will include arias and ensembles from Verdi, Puccini, Carmen, Bernstein and more. Opera singer Helen Astrid will provide insight into each piece and how it was inspired by literature.
