LIPHOOK Junior School held its annual summer concert at the village’s Millennium Centre, with every child learning to play a musical instrument taking part.

And the children rose to the challenge of performing in front of family and friends.

The school offers children the opportunity to learn a wide range of instruments, ranging from strings and brass to woodwind and guitar, during weekly lessons.

The summer concert represents the culmination of the year’s lessons, having worked hard to prepare to perform in front of an audience.

Music leader Catherine Bissex said: “The school offers many opportunities to enable pupils to learn about music, providing a foundation for, hopefully, a life-long enjoyment and appreciation. It is always wonderful to see how pupils have progressed through their lessons and practice at the end of the school year and to hear them performing confidently.

“Being able to perform at the Millennium Centre was really special and a great way to demonstrate the school’s excellent musical talents.”
