A mother has been left horrified after her 16-year-old son and his 13-year-old friend were threatened with death.
The pair went for a walk on January 7 and at 5.52pm pressed the button at a set of lights at the four-way traffic lights behind Shottermill Club. When the lights took a while to turn green, they decided it was actually getting too late. As they headed home a taxi driver who had stopped at the lights to let them cross pulled up next to them and started shouting verbal abuse.
The taxi driver is alleged to have called them the C-word, and after accusing them of pulling pranks said: “I’m going to kill you.”
After threatening the young pair with violence, the taxi driver followed them up the road, calling them other slurs.
Both boys attend a special needs school and the encounter has left the 13-year-old too scared to leave his house. The 16-year-old’s mother is asking anyone who may have seen the incident or have dashcam footage to contact the police quoting crime reference number 45240002521.
