Andrew Griffith, MP for Arundel and South Downs, is setting a robust agenda for Midhurst, a town he now represents following recent constituency boundary changes.

Griffith, who has already conducted a series of weekly surgeries in Midhurst, is keen to engage further with the community, promising a busy schedule of events and initiatives.

In his latest update, Griffith highlighted his recent meetings with local businesses, particularly those affected by the fire at The Angel Inn hotel last year.

"It was great to meet so many local Midhurst traders last Friday. Understandably, they are still grappling with the aftermath of the devastating fire and the associated road closure which lasted for many months,” he said. “I have volunteered to do all I can to support getting The Angel Inn site re-opened and the pavement next to it re-opened.”

One of the recurring concerns raised by businesses and residents alike is the need for improved parking solutions. Griffith is pushing for the reinstatement of coach parking to boost visitor numbers and is advocating for better and more affordable parking options. He has already reached out to Chichester District Council, urging them to increase their support for Midhurst.

Griffith is hosting an ‘In Conversation’ event in September to connect directly with residents and address their concerns.

He has also extended his best wishes to students awaiting their exam results.

He said: "I wish you, your parents, and teachers well and hope that you achieve the grades you deserve."
