MEMBERS of the Carnival committee attended the leavers’ disco at Liphook Junior School to choose their royalty for 2017.
Carnival chairman Karen Feeney told The Herald: “The standard was exceptionally high again this year and making a decision was, as ever, very hard.
“After much consideration we chose three young ladies who we think will make excellent ambassadors for the Liphook Carnival.
“Our princess this year is Jessica Manns, whose ambition is to become a baker and her attendants are twins Emily and Kate Coombs – both keen on horse riding. All three girls will be starting at Bohunt School this September.
“We look forward to seeing our royalty on the carnival float on Saturday, October 28, together with this year’s carnival queen Charlotte Moore.”
A carnival fundraising quiz is due to take place at the Church Centre, off Portsmouth Road, on Friday, September 1.
It will feature a two-course meal, free wine tasting, raffle with a selection of major prices, a licensed bar as well as a silent auction for a track day, sponsored by Barons BMW worth £300.
Doors open at 7pm, the quiz begins at 7.30pm with a maximum of six people per team. Tickets are £12 each with all proceeds going to support the cost of this year’s carnival, available at The Beauti Pod, in Station Road, or from Sally Ann by email [email protected], or calling 07717 313440.
