Eighty-eight keen golfers raised more than £16,500 for Farnham hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell at this year’s Hankley Common Golf Day.
The club, known for having one of the best inland course layouts in Britain, welcomed golfers with coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, before a shotgun start began the 18-hole Stableford competition.
They were incredibly lucky with the weather as the rain held off, and everyone had a wonderful time, rounding off the morning’s golf with a two-course lunch and auction.
“Our thanks to Hankley Common Golf Club for once again hosting this hugely popular event, and to all those who took part,” said Fiona Chapman, event fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell.
“In total, the golfers raised over £16,500. This is enough to pay for nearly four months’ care from one of our occupational therapists, who provide advice and equipment to help patients manage their symptoms and maintain their independence for as long as possible.”
Phyllis Tuckwell would also like to say a special thank you to 1st Call Trees, DKJ Electrical, Automated Gate Solutions, Horizon Renewable Solutions and MOTest, all of whom sponsored the holes on the course. Find out more at www.pth.org.uk/events
