A NEW Wellness Centre, offering regular classes and a range of therapist treatments, has opened at Liphook’s Methodist Church.

The Fusion4Health Centre is run by Glen Robertson, an experienced massage therapist, and offers sessions of reflexology, aromatherapy, Swedish, sports and Indian head massage, counselling, nutrition advice and Bowen therapy.

Daytime and evening classes at the church, in London Road, include yoga, tai chi, kettlebells, systema and mindfulness.

Glen, who is qualified in martial arts and has four different black belts, is introducing systema, a Russian form of martial arts, which teaches pupils to be effective by remaining calm and in control.

He told The Herald: “Systema was recently featured in the McMafia television series and combat skills include movements that are powerful and precise, economical, subtle and diverse.

“Yoga is good for the whole body and suitable for most age groups, while tai chi is favoured by older people and kettlebells, which are an energetic form of exercise, are popular with the younger crowd.”

Glen is also keen to teach mindfulness, a form of meditation focusing on correct breathing and about being yourself.

He added: “I am hopefully going to set up some after-school clubs - especially teaching mindfulness - which will have a calming effect on children. My philosophy is that calming the mind strengthens the body.”

Classes are held every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday costing from £8 per session. For times visit www.fusion4health.co.uk or email [email protected]
