Apart from all the rain, we’ve had some quite cold spells this winter already, but fortunately there doesn’t seem to have been many road accidents as a result of the two conditions following each other too closely.
That was the case in 1954, which was noted as a very wet year, when this double-decker belonging to the Aldershot & District bus company came to grief in Alma Lane at Heath End.
Quite what happened I can’t tell as we don’t easily have access to the Herald back numbers of that year (something the Archive Project will greatly simplify).
Unfortunately the negative index only reveals “No. 15 bus skids and overturns in Alma Lane”.
