PARENTS have put the fun in fundraiser this October after their children from Year 6 at St Ives School in Haslemere presented the Tantum Trust with a cheque for £1,396.

This money was raised during the last academic year by the Friends of St Ives, the parent body, which organised different activities and parties during the year for the children to enjoy, while raising some valuable funds.

The parent body fundraised by organising a hugely-successful quiz night which all St Ives parents took part in.

Part of the money raised goes to the school and the remainder is given to a local charity.

This year, the parent body decided to donate the money to the Tantum Trust, which provides much-needed financial support to individuals, families and community groups in south-west Surrey and north-east Hampshire.

Lyn Waters, manager of the Tantum Trust in Haslemere, said: “Thank you so much to the pupils and parents for this generous donation.

“We will use this donation to help those most in need in our local community”.

Kay Goldsworthy, the headteacher of St Ives, said “We are really pleased to be able to donate this money to the Tantum Trust which will ensure it reaches those in our community who need it most.

“Thank you to our parents for organising such a successful quiz night. Not only have we raised valuable funds, but we all had great fun in the process.”
