East Hampshire District Council is selling off a landmark property in Alton town centre through a Kentish auction house.
Alton’s former Tourist Information Centre is going under the hammer with a guide price of £350,000.
The freehold property at 7 Cross & Pillory Lane was one of six assets around the district deemed “surplus to requirements” by the district council last October.
It’s one of 174 lots across southern England which will feature at the 250th Clive Emson auction on June 12 with properties in Winchester and Basingstoke also featuring.
“It is considered that the building could serve a number of future uses including continued utilisation as offices,” said Joe Rocks, auction appraiser.
“Alternatively, residential conversion is also considered a possibility subject to all required consents being obtainable.”
Bids will be accepted from June 10 for the “attractive building in the heart of the town”, for more details visit www.cliveemson.co.uk/properties/
