Fernhurst Hub is making a name for itself in sustainability with its fourth Repair Café, where people flocked to restore broken toasters, radios, clocks, and even a drone, rather than sending them to landfill. A record 38 items were brought in, showing the community’s growing enthusiasm to fix it, not ditch it.
“Our dedicated team of expert repairers, who give their time and talent to help the community, is ultimately what makes events like these possible, alongside our fantastic volunteers who keep the Fernhurst Hub ticking,” said Hub Manager Liz Rawlings.
Among the visitors was 10-year-old Ruben Attfield, hoping to see his drone soar again after a propeller repair by expert Eric Willner.
Repairers took on an eclectic range of items, from vintage jewellery to sentimental keepsakes, while Duke of Edinburgh students helped manage the busy counter.
