ROGATE Village Hall was a bustling scene on Saturday as a queue formed before the doors opened to its first Christmas Market since 2019.

Rogate Primary School Carol Singers got the event off to a festive start, with their voices filling the car park and entertaining the gathered crowd.

The hall was filled with the enticing aroma of mince pies and mulled wine, while the home-made produce stall did a roaring trade with jam, chutney and cakes.

There was something for all ages, including a visit by Father Christmas, a craft corner and a pre-loved toy stall. Visitors tried their luck at the bottle tombola and grand raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses.

Revd Edward Doyle said: “As always, I am overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of all those involved in this wonderful event.”

The market raised more than £6,000 for Family Support Work and Rogate School Family and Friends.
