Plans to build two houses next to a pub on the East Hampshire border have been called in by the South Downs National Park Authority.

The application by Flying Bull Property Ltd is the fifth submitted for the site next to the public house in Rake.

The first for seven was withdrawn in February 2021 with later schemes for three and two houses being lodged for the London Road plot in following years.

The applicants say the plot uphill from the pub is surplus to the business and has potential for residential development in the Rogate and Rake Neighbourhood Development Plan.

A two and three-bedroom house is planned along with an “indicative footpath” from London Road to the village green grounds.
