MEMBERS of a keep fit class in Liss have exercised their right to help the village’s Food Bank over the festive season.
Patricia Edwards delivered two large boxes of largely festive foodstuffs to the bank’s HQ on Hill Brow Road last Saturday.
The items donated by members of the Tuesday and Thursday classes at the village hall were accepted by a very grateful Sarah Wright.
She said: “We’re trying to get some Christmas bags together be-cause times are tough and everyone likes a bit of Christmas cheer. We’re so grateful for these donations.”
Patricia said: “We did this last year too but the take up has been even better this year and so many people have contributed.”
Liss Food Bank opens Wednesdays from 2pm to 3.30pm while its users are self-referred or referred from schools, the NHS or HomeStart Butser.
They also provide vouchers for fresh produce from Bryants and while their volunteer drivers deliver afar as Rake, Rogate and Greatham.
