Phyllis Tuckwell’s Open Gardens brochure is now available online, so download your copy and take a look at the wonderful range of beautiful gardens that will be on show throughout the spring and summer months.
All of the gardens will be open for visitors, each with a small entry fee which will be donated to Phyllis Tuckwell, to help fund the care that it offers to local people who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.
The gardens are located across Phyllis Tuckwell’s catchment area of West Surrey and North-East Hampshire, including 14 gardens in the Dinorben Estate Open Gardens, which will be on show on May 21, and another group of beautiful gardens in Bramley.
They will range from small gardens bursting with blooms to larger plots with trees, flower meadows and ponds. Many of the gardens will also offer refreshments and plants for sale, to add to the funds raised, and the brochure also will specify which gardens are wheelchair accessible.
“Our Open Gardens event is always a firm favourite in the summer calendar,” said Jenny Newman, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell. “It is lovely to browse around such an amazing variety of outdoor spaces, from small cottage gardens to large areas with woodland, ponds and meadows. We would like to thank Kebur Garden Materials, who are kindly sponsoring this year’s Open Gardens event.”

Every day, Phyllis Tuckwell supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers - in their own homes, in the community, at the Hospice in Farnham and at the Beacon Centre in Guildford – but as the NHS/Government usually only covers about 20 per cent of its costs, it has to raise over £25,000 a day. By visiting some of these gardens, you can help them to do this, and support local people who really need their care.
