Right at Home GF and the Herald have joined forces to deliver a unique workshop during Farnham Literary Festival.
The writing memories workshop on Monday, March 6 has been specifically designed for people living with dementia and aims to stimulate the sharing of memories about local events.
Participants will be shown front covers from the Herald’s new digital archive and asked to recall their memories of the story. These memories will be recorded and presented in a scrap book.
Alastair Shanks, managing director at Right at Home GF, said: “People living with dementia are more likely to remember something that happened a long time ago.
“The aim of the workshop is to provide a fun and engaging activity for participants to share their memories and for us to promote the importance of storytelling in the preservation of memories.”
Daniel Gee, Herald head of content, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Right at Home GF to offer a one-of-a-kind workshop at the Farnham Literary Festival.
“This workshop is a wonderful opportunity for participants to engage with their local history and share memories of events captured in the Herald’s digital archive.”
The workshop will be held at Farnham Town Council’s offices from 10.30am to 2pm and will provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone to share their stories. To book a place, email [email protected] or call 01252 783426.
