CHILDREN at William Cobbett Primary School enjoyed a Winter Wonderland Christmas tree decorating competition before breaking up for the holidays, organised by the school’s PTFA.
Each of the Weybourne-based school’s 17 classes were given an artificial tree at the beginning of December, generously donated by the local community.
The children’s task was to decorate their Christmas tree together and headmistress Sharon Pritchard had to decide the winning tree. Mrs Pritchard awarded the prize to Woodpecker class.
Class teacher Laura Bartlett said: "We went with the theme of sustainability so the decorations are predominantly made from recycled or natural materials.
"We have toilet roll Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione, a paper chain made from The Week magazine, a lot of pine cones and orange slices!
"All the trees looked spectacular with some real time, effort and thought going into some of the decorations.
"We have had lots of lovely feedback from the children and we can’t wait to do something similar next year."
