A Farnham and Haslemere based academy school trust has announced a new headteacher has taken the reins at The Ridgeway School in Farnham.
Tom Byrne has worked in many roles in education during his 13-year career including as a deputy head at The Ridgeway, a co-educational school for pupils aged two to 19 with severe and/or profound multiple learning difficulties.
He holds a BA and MA in education, and has also run 12 marathons in 12 days.
Mr Byrne replaces Darryl Morgan who retired as head of The Ridgeway in July, and was chosen as his successor after a selection process at the end of last year.
A spokesman for the Weydon Multi Academy Trust said: “We would like to congratulate and extend a warm welcome to Tom Byrne in his new role as the headteacher at The Ridgeway School.”
The trust oversees seven schools, four mainstream secondaries Weydon, Farnham Heath End, Woolmer Hill and Rodborough, and three special schools The Ridgeway, The Abbey and The Park school.
