Camelsdale Primary School welcomed 28 pupils and four staff for a six-day visit from its link school in Burgos as part of its Spanish exchange programme.
Activities included experiencing lessons in an English school, a visit to Haslemere Educational Museum and local shops, a sightseeing trip to London, forest school, a sausage and chips supper complete with an eco-fashion show, and learning new skipping tricks by joining in a whole school skipping workshop.
Headteacher Sarah Palmer said: “It was wonderful to welcome everyone to the school and for all the children to meet real Spanish children and to practise their Spanish.
“We have enjoyed the link with the school for 19 years now – there is a special friendship indeed.
“We look forward to our Year 6 children returning to Burgos – it is a special feature of our school.
“We thank especially the 14 Camelsdale families for hosting them in their homes – they were truly well cared for and left with lifelong memories.”
