Upper Sixth students at More House School in Frensham celebrated great success in their public exams and university entry last Thursday, having overcome the barriers posed by their special educational needs.
Despite a majority holding an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) recognising significant difficulties with learning, 81 per cent of leavers applied to university and all managed to secure their places on courses as varied as acting, animal behaviour, paramedic science and cybersecurity.
Nine in ten A-level and equivalent BTEC grades were passes, with 55 per cent scoring grade C or higher.
More House headteacher Jonathan Hetherington congratulated students on their tenacity and praised the school’s extensive staff of specialist therapists and teachers, adding: “Holding high aspirations for our pupils is at the core of our school’s powerful ethos."
