Cowdray Heritage Trust was delighted to join with MADhurst and The Midhurst Society to welcome visitors to its newly refurbished Visitor Centre at the end of August, as part of a D-Day Tribute walk.

The walk, led by local historians Tania Pons and Phil Stringer, retraced the route of wartime convoys from Cowdray Ruins to Midhurst town centre. The tour highlighted the East window at Midhurst Parish Church, installed in 1949 after the original was destroyed in a 1943 air raid.

The refurbishment, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, enables the Trust to host events, workshops, and talks. Visitors can also enjoy hot and cold drinks and light refreshments at the centre.

Sally Guile, Operations Manager, said: “We were delighted to be invited to collaborate with MADhurst and the Midhurst Society on this event.”

The Visitor Centre is now open to the public on weekends.
