A group of lucky participants kicked off their Christmas season in creative style at Haslemere Museum.
They took part in an evening workshop learning the traditional potato method of creating yuletide swags. The fun session included a glass of fizz to get everyone into the festive spirit.
Before the advent of floral foam, the potato served as an inexpensive and accessible way to create an arrangement. Session leader Jan showed the group how to use seasonal foliage held together with potatoes to create beautiful decorations to take home for their doors and tables.
The event was one of the museum’s regular evening creative workshops. Look out for the new year programme of events coming out soon on the museum website.
