CAMELSDALE Primary School pupils were out and about in Haslemere High Street to help swell the money raised by the town’s Poppy Appeal.
Head boy Elliot, head girl Follie and their deputies William and Elodie joined the team led by Poppy Appeal organiser Jim Edwards, who is also a town and borough councillor.
Camelsdale headteacher Sarah Palmer said:“It is important we take part in supporting our local community and the children have really enjoyed selling the poppies.
“Year four are busy selling poppies at school and will lay a school wreath at the Remembrance Day Service at Shottermill Ponds on Sunday.”
The art club will be displaying their Remembrance Day art work in Lynchmere Church on Sunday, too.
Mrs Palmer added: “We hope as many as people as possible will join in the commemorations all over the town and villages.
“It is very important the children learn about this time in our history and we join together to remember those who died and to hope that our young people grow up in a more peaceful world.”Grayshott Beavers and Scouts were also out in force for the town Poppy Appeal and were congratulated for their efforts on November 10 by Haslemere Mayor David Round and mayoress Melanie Odell.
